The first thing one notices about Mary Spear is her very own unique style of dress and her stage decoration, rooted in the 60s, but modern and creative at the same time. Next, you hear her music, her skilled guitar riffs and that voice which carries you backwards, forwards and with the angels in the clouds, whether she is singing vintage Joni Mitchell tunes, standards, folk, Beatles or the Dead: rock and roll, jazz or reggae. Both the music and the style are a part of Mary’s immense talent and unique artistry.
Originally from the Midwest, Mary Spear has been a mainstay of the Key West music scene since she arrived on the island, more than thirty years ago. She’s played in almost every venue in Key West, at one time or another and with almost every musician on the island as well as with nationally known greats like Buddy MILES EXPRESS, both in Key West and on tour.She has opened the show for 40,000 people in Mole Lake Wisconsin played the 30 year anniversary of Woodstock on Yasgars farm as well as played with Bohemiam Swingers the Deadbeats, recently with FISH OUT OF WATER all original funk hip hop rocking reggae. She’s fronted bands, worked in duos and played solo gigs and she’s equally at home in any musical situation.
You can find her at Blue Heaven every other Thurs brunch or evenings at The Bistro Sole’ 1019 White street. She can add other players bass violin mandolin cello as needed for events and venues. Always you can feel the love in her hand made music. 305 849 6003

Though her heart lies in the music of the 60s and 70s, from the Beatles to Joni Mitchell to the Grateful Dead, Mary performs a broad range of musical genres as well as STANDARDS AND JAZZ from the 30s and 40s to modern time. In a single set, you might hear her cover Johnny Cash, Ella Fitzgerald, Bonnie Raitt, Fats Waller, Bob Marley, Neil Young, The Band, Janis Joplin, Nora Jones Frank Sinatra Willie Nelson and many more.
It’s hard to classify the magic that Mary makes on stage. She’s a little bit folksy, a little bit rock-y, a little bit jazzy and a little bit island-y. You can sit and listen or you can get up and dance. One thing’s for sure. Mary Spear is always entertaining! You can hear her at the Bistro Sole on 1019 White Street, evenings. Also you can find her at Blue Heaven every other thurs brunch. Available to play for events parties venues who appreciate hand made music from the heart.
